Q. Where is the best location to place the GPS Tracker in a vehicle?


GPS Signal cannot go thru metal so you have to be creative when putting the GPS Tracker in a vehicle. The best locations are in the front or rear dashboards with the embossed globe facing the sky is the best spot where the GPS can see the sky and have a direct line of sight to the satellites. If you want to be covert we suggest putting the GPS Tracker (because it is small enough) in a magazine, stuffed animal, tissue box or umbrella. Then put it in the rear/front dashboard. Plastic, glass, cardboard for example will not block the signal. ONLY METAL. We have had success in getting a signal inside a glove box or under the dash without any metal between it and the sky, but the glove box has to be up toward the front of the windshield so it can see out the windshield. Finally, you can put the GPS Tracker inside of a Plastic Bumper the signal will go thru plastic, attach with the magnet mount included. Some customers have reported the GPS Tracker works fine under or between the car's front seats but it is not recommended for reliable operation.


Q. How do you deliver the GPS unit and is it returned?

EZ trackdown provides GPS rental services only to USA. We charge two-way shipping for a flat fee that depends on the equipment's actual weight and value. You will be provided with a prepaid postage label for the return shipping. So, you can simply drop the equipment package off at any Post office to return. The rental contract period will not include delivery time.

Q. How will the rental period be calculated?

For local pickup orders, the rental period starts from the actual pickup day and ends on the drop off back day. For all shipping orders, the rental period starts from the delivery day.

Q. How much should I pay if the GPS unit is damaged or stolen?

If such unexpected situation did happen, you have to pay for the full replacement price that is included in the rental contract.

Q. What is your return early or later policy?

If you return the GPS unit early before your rental contract expires, No credit will be given for unused days. If you cannot return the GPS unit on time, please contact us by phone and renew your rental contract at least 48 hours earlier than your rental contract expires.

Q. How much is the late fee per day?

Late rental fees will be a charge of $15.00 per day, due to the popularity of these units and limited inventory on hand at any one time. We schedule rentals accordingly based on our rental schedules and receiving units later than the committed rental period can interrupt our schedule rental flow and commitments for other customers.

Q. Why do you authorize my credit card for a charge?

This pre-authorized deposit charge is only used to secure the GPS unit and the deposit amount fund is released when the unit is return to us undamaged. You will only pay the amount that you have committed to if the unit is returned in the same condition as it was received.

Q. How do you ship?

We ship all rental units with the USPS postal service, 2-3 day service or Next day air, depending on your choice, to ensure the unit is delivered to you in time. GPS units are also shipped with insurance and signature required for delivery for your security and benefit.

Q. How far in advance must I order to ensure I get the unit when I need it?

We recommend you order your rental GPS unit in advance due to high season demands. Making a reservation 30 days before your trip guarantees you a GPS unit when you need one. Reservation 2 weeks in advance is always recommended. In an situation we will do our best to accommodate you, but cannot guarantee that we will have a GPS unit available to rent. As a last resort, there is always overnight delivery.

Example: Customer is going out of town on Saturday the 30th of December. Since deliveries are only made on weekdays, customer must order the GPS unit no later than 4 pm EST on Tuesday the 26th of December. Delivery date has to be a weekday so customer will receive the item on Thursday or Friday.

  • Tuesday-Wednesday, unit should arrive Friday-Monday for Tuesday
  • Wednesday-Thursday, unit should arrive Monday-Tuesday for Wednesday
  • Thursday-Friday, unit should arrive Tuesday-Wednesday for Thursday
  • Friday-Tuesday, unit should arrive Wednesday-Thursday for Friday
  • Saturday-Tuesday, unit should arrive Thur-Friday for Saturday

Q. What is the process for sending the unit back to EZtrackdown.com?

Your item will be shipped to you with a prepaid return label included inside the box. All you have to do is make sure you package everything that we included inside the original box we shipped to you, making sure the unit is well protected with insulation, and ship us back the GPS unit via USPS. You must attach the adhesive label to the outside of the box and drop the package off at one of your local USPS post office. We highly recommend that you obtain a receipt and tracking number for your records.

Q. What happens if I lose the unit or it gets stolen?

You are 100% responsible for the unit while you are in possession and control of it. In the event your item gets lost, stolen or damaged, your credit card deposit fee plus any additional cost of the unit will be charged to you based on the amount of the replacement value for the GPS unit as agreed upon in the terms and conditions.
